CEBU 2014: TOPS, Busay.
One of the fun things to do in Cebu other than the coastal tourist spots is the famous look out, Tops which can be found in Barangay, Malubog, Busay. This is owned by Emro Holdings Inc. and it has an entrance fee of 100.00 which is really expensive.
It is about a 30-minute ride from JY Squaremall in the center of Cebu. About the ride, there are habal-habal drivers around the mall which you can haggle at your own finest and the cheapest we had was 200 pesos. Actually, it was only 150 if you stopped by the Mountain View and added 50 pesos going to Tops. If you want a taxi ride then it is 500 pesos but I recommend the habal-habal to experience the fresh cold air as you go up to the mountain.
I discovered this place by my classmates who happened to have their internship in Cebu. They said it is a great view for fireworks during New Year's Eve because you could see everything in one place. Moreover, I also saw this in the movie, "Must Be Love" starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
As the habal-habal driver recommended, we traveled at around 5:30 in the afternoon so that we could catch the sunset and witness the city lights slowly emerged from the dusk. I was only using my iPAD, so I can't show you high definition photos during our visit.
The city lights where like stars scattered on the vast land of the universe and I could stare at them forever. It seems that all your worries and problem will be vanished for a little while.
We didn't stay for long on that evening but we went back on the following day to see how it looks like in the morning. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy and it was drizzling that is why the buildings in the background is foggy.
Looking at the beauty of the Cebu from above is one of our bucket lists and I was really happy that we were able to do it together. The place is great for lovers to have a lone time together while watching the view. But excuse our crazy faces as we goofed around.
One of my favorite is this seemingly endless circles because it looks like an optical illusion. You can bring food and have a picnic here with no corkage fee. I recommend you to bring some goodies because the food stalls are pretty much expensive.
Whenever we browse through our pictures in Tops, we would always say that it looked like we were in United States of America and then we laughed. I would definitely love to go back in this place someday and hoping that it would be New Year's Eve.
